Have You Been Arrested for a Drug Offense in Palm Beach or Martin County?

Being arrested on a drug charge can have long-lasting consequences on a person's life. Even a misdemeanor possession charge may result in an individual spending time in jail, paying expensive fines, doing community service, attending mandatory drug treatment programs and loss of a driver's license for two years.

More severe drug charges, such as possession with intent to sell, distribution, cultivation, manufacturing, or drug trafficking will result in a felony charge which carries very harsh penalties. The severity of the charge depends on the type and quantity of the drug involved. Do not hesitate to contact one of our Lake Worth drug crime lawyers if you are facing one of these charges.

Defending Drug Charges

If you or someone you love has been arrested on a drug charge, you might feel that there is not much else you can do except ride it out and take any punishment handed to you. This could not be further from the truth. A drug crimes lawyer serving West Palm Beach can review the specifics of your case and determine what actions are the most effective. There are questions to ask regarding the search and seizure, the amount of the substance that was involved, whether or not it was sufficient for sales under current state law, and other aspects which could be used in your defense. There are instances where a skilled lawyer may be able to get the charges reduced and, in some cases, dismissed altogether.

For the Florida Statute regarding drug crimes and penalties, see §893 Florida Statutes.
