Attorney Trying to Help Client That Finds Fault in Everything

Hi folks im Roger P. Foley and you know what one of the most difficult things are, its when your own clients thinks that you're trying to screw them over somehow. When you are going out of your way to focus on someone who needs help who has obviously put themselves in a situation that is going to cause problems. And you do something out of the kindness of your heart and you say you know what I'm going to help you here, I'm not going to charge you for this, I'm going to do this part of it pro bono. And they are still looking at you and critiquing you like you're stealing the money from under the mattress. Holy crap just talk about difficulty. Hey id like to help you with this and I'm going to waive my trial fee because i agree that there is an argument but there are some problems, nothing is a slam dunk in what i do for a living. And to sit and listen to ridicule of the family members like screwing them or something. It drives me insane. I dont charge extra for cost. whatever the cost is for the deposition, if the cost is $52.52 that is exactly what you get charged. Nothing is inflated. The fee's are the fee's. I dont change my fee's whether you're the richest person in town or the homeless guy, i charge everybody the same. I try to be fair and then theres times where i see people who just dont have th finances and I'm sitting there trying to think how I'm going to help them and I'm shaving off every single possible dollar, and they are STILL talking to me like i caused a problem as if I'm the judge, I'm the prosecutor who wants to get him a ridiculous deal. Listen if it was up to me, pay a fee and you go bye! Im not the guy who makes all of your choices, I'm the guy who is fighting to prove your innocence. Ranting on what I occasionally deal with at the office. Clients can sometimes be irrational. Client is charged with a crime. They insist they did not commit said crime. There is a legitimate argument that they did not do it. I believe them. The prosecutor offers them a sentence that they disagree with. They are not willing to accept the offer because they claim they are innocent. Understood and I agree. However, a trial is needed because its a question of fact. Tell the prosecutor I will accept this. I tell prosecutor and tehy say sorry that is my offer. I tell the client Ok I understand money is tight and I will make a rare exception and do go to trial at no additional fee to you, however you have to pay your costs for depositions, etc. Mr. Foley why do I have to pay I did not do this crime? Because you dont want to go to jail and receive probation and because yous ay your innocent. That requires more work but again I am drastically reducing your fee as a courtesy and to help. Well, I want a complete cost analysis of what you are spending money on. I want to see your work. I want to see ythe case law. I want to stick a probe up your ass and see whats going on and make sure you did not over charge me. Welcome to teh life of a lawyer on a friday.
