Know Your Rights When Dealing With Police in Florida

When you encounter police in the streets of Broward or Palm Beach Counties you always need to ask, "are you detaining me or I am free to go?" Saying this magic phrase allows you to determine whether you are free to leave or not. If you are being detained by police in Florida then you want to remain silent and request an attorney. If you are not being detained, hence free to leave, then you should stay silent and leave. Know your rights when dealing with police. When police stop your vehicle, you must give them your drivers license, registration and insurance but you do not need to answer any questions. You must sign the ticket.
